Melaina Mote brings over a decade of dedicated experience in nonprofit leadership to her role as Director of Donor Development at Lee Health Foundation. With a fervent commitment to making a tangible difference in people’s lives, Melaina leads the charge in fundraising efforts for the upcoming Musculoskeletal Institute, a groundbreaking initiative set to revolutionize healthcare in the region. Her vision encompasses a comprehensive approach to musculoskeletal and neurological care, encompassing Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, Trauma, Spine, Pain Management, and more, all under one roof.

Prior to her current role, Melaina served as the Director of Donor Development at Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, where her strategic acumen and relationship-building prowess were instrumental in driving successful fundraising programs. Her tenure at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation Collaboratory saw her spearheading initiatives focused on empowerment and social mobility, including the creation of innovative scholarship processes recognized nationally for their inclusivity and effectiveness. Notably, she orchestrated the acclaimed FutureMakers Coalition DREAM Summit, igniting the aspirations of at-risk youth and paving the way for higher education and career attainment.
