Our Mother’s Home is proud to announce the appointment of Azil Malan as Treasurer and Bess Charles as Vice President of the Board of Directors.
Both bring a wealth of experience and a shared passion for community service that will significantly bolster the organization’s mission to empower young mothers in the foster care system.
Bess Charles, a celebrated entrepreneur and founder of the nationally recognized LadyCakes Bakery in Cape Coral, FL, brings extensive business acumen and a strong community focus to her role as Vice President. A Le Moyne College alumna, Bess transitioned from a criminology and psychology background to entrepreneurship in Southwest Florida. In addition to running LadyCakes since 2014, she authored a children’s book and launched Illuminate Consulting Solutions to mentor fellow entrepreneurs. Her active involvement with several non-profits, including Better Together and Community Cooperative, underscores her commitment to making a positive impact.
Azil Malan, a Senior Client Manager with Wellspring Associates, offers nearly two decades of financial expertise, specializing in estate, charitable, and business succession planning. Her proficiency in managing complex financial projects and maintaining client relationships will be instrumental in her role as Treasurer. Azil, a California State University, Dominguez Hills graduate, is also an active community member, serving on the Fort Myers Historical Preservation Commission and contributing to various non-profits. Her dedication to community service and financial management aligns perfectly with the mission of Our Mother’s Home.
Our Mother’s Home is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young mothers and their children, offering them the resources and support needed to break the repetitive cycle of foster care. With the addition of Bess and Azil, the organization is poised to enhance its programs and outreach, ensuring a brighter future for the families it serves.
